First Aid Update

Although not mandatory, it is good practice and strongly recommended that first-aiders keep their basic skills up to date and keep abreast of changes to first aid procedures by undertaking an annual First Aid Update course. This is a half day programme which can be attended each year during any three-year EFAW/FAW certification period.

Course Content: Duration:
  • Legislation and protocol changes.
  • Assessing the casualty and situation.
  • The unconscious casualty.
  • Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation.
  • The recovery position.
  • Choking and Asthma.
  • Control of bleeding
 3 to 4 hours (half day duration)

Course requirements / notes:
Delegates should dress appropriately for carrying out floor-based tasks such as CPR.

Cognet provide on-site training throughout Shropshire, Worcestershire, Herefordshire, Warwickshire and West Midlands. Additionally, we regularly provide training further afield throughout England and Wales.

We would ask for at least four weeks lead time, however we have a very customer-focused philosophy and will try our utmost to meet more pressing needs.
